How May I Best Support You?
Psychotherapy with Adults
“Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds.” – Bob Marley
“Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds.” – Bob Marley
Clients often present with a variety of troubling thoughts and feelings perceived as depression, anxiety, relationship stress, marital discord, parenting challenges, communication struggles, etc. It is my aim that my clients come away from even just one actual session having at least one strategy to support their movement in alliance with what matters to them. Our work together takes a mindful and compassionate conversational approach toward building and living a life of richness. As a team, we will work to develop strategies and solutions to problems and build skills to support you in living a life consistent with your values. Components of psychoeducation and skill building support expanded awareness and psychological flexibility, allowing clients to navigate troubling thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and pursue a value driven life.

Couples
“The most empowering relationships are those in which each partner lifts the other to a higher possession of their own being.” -Teilbard De Chardin.
“The most empowering relationships are those in which each partner lifts the other to a higher possession of their own being.” -Teilbard De Chardin.
On a foundation of emotional safety, couples partner together against challenges and work to build the relationship they want to have. Rather than problem based, the work takes a solution focused approach, and includes components of communication styles and protocols, awareness expansion, and practice that allows clients to mend breaches, heal wounds, and build connectedness. Couples’ work is done in sessions and also through private couple’s retreats.

Assessments
“Worlds can be found by a child and an adult bending down and working together under a blade of grass…” – Mary Catherine Bateson”
The first step in answering questions is often an evaluation. Evaluations include comprehensive assessment designed to answer questions through consultation, testing, feedback and follow-up. The assessment process seeks to wade between the data and generate information that helps the client and those working with the client better understand the client’s needs and develop strategies that support goal achievement. With children, adolescents and adults with varying adjustment questions, a wide variety of psychological, educational, and neuropsychological techniques are selected for answering questions about capacities such as identifying strengths, areas of affinity, and protective factors, areas of need and vulnerability factors, determining learning style that can help guide instruction, diagnosing developmental disabilities, and exploring social-emotional functioning. Admissions testing for students is also readily available.
